What is Ready for Success?

Ready for Success provides low-income women and men with gently-used and new professional clothing, accessories, and new personal care items suitable for job interviews and the workplace.

Ready for Success began at Trinity Episcopal Church in 1997 and is jointly managed today by PPL and HIRED.

 

Our program is unique from other clothing programs, providing:

  • % Accessories and Personal Care Items
  • % Clients Served in a Boutique-Style Atmosphere
Who are Ready for Success Clients?

Our clients are referred by local social service agencies throughout the Twin Cities metro area. Women and men referred for services are often experiencing a life transition and are in need of appropriate clothing for entering or re-entering the workforce.

What do Our Clients Receive? 

Ready for Success clients receive professional clothing, shoes, seasonal outerwear, personal care items, and accessories. Clients also receive the assistance of a Volunteer Personal Shopper during their scheduled appointment that assists them in building a professional wardrobe.

We look forward to helping you get ready for success! All appointments are made by referral through our partner agencies only. Contact your case worker, employment counselor, or social worker to schedule an appointment today!

Appointment Cancellation Policy:

• If you need to cancel your appointment, you must provide at least a 24 hour notice so your appointment can be offered to another client.

• Appointments may be cancelled online or by calling 612-872-1509 during business hours.

• The referring agency will be billed a $25 fee for all appointments cancelled in less than 24 hours.

Donations

We appreciate receiving all in-kind donations in CLEAN condition, free of pet hair, not in need of repairs, and on hangers.  Please call 612-872-1509 to schedule an appointment to drop off your donation.

    The women’s program does not accept jeans, t-shirts, sweats, or outdated fashions.

What can you Expect as a Volunteer?

• An orientation, including a site tour

• An opportunity to shadow another volunteer

• Ready for Success newsletters, sign-up schedules, and news about upcoming events

• A fun and meaningful experience that will fit into your personal schedule


What are Ready for Success Volunteer Expectations?

• Commit to one year involvement and sign up for at least one shift per month

• Present a business or business casual appearance when working with clients

• Treat our clients with dignity, and respect the confidentiality of their situations

• Promptly notify (at least 24 hours in advance) the Program Manager if changes to your scheduled shift are needed, so that a substitute can be found
